CLT – Cross laminated timber
Scope: | Cross-laminated timber (CLT) is a recent innovation in engineered wood products, which has revolutionized the use of timber in structural applications. CLT construction was first introduced in Austria and Germany in the early 1990s, after which it has been gaining popularity and general acceptance. CLT as a construction material is characterized by a number of advantages, including low carbon footprint, high strength-to-weight ratio, ease of installation and aesthetic features. Same as Europe, and gradually the whole world, we at bpl-cz fell in love with CLT. To achieve accurate and efficient design, we developed our own in-house CLT design tool implemented in SCIA Engineer. Thanks to this - if the panel can be manufactured, we can design it! |
